The Asociacion de Investigacion de la Industria del Juguete (AIJU) is a private not-for-profit organisation aiming to boost research development and technological innovation within toy, children’s products and leisure industry.
AIJU is a technology centre that is at the forefront of ICT technologies. It also provides a vision of the World of Work in educational projects, providing real case studies and adapted to reality. Regarding ICT AIJU is a centre with agreements with Shools, VET centres, Universities and students come to AIJU in order to perform computer practices or end practices of university masters.
AIJU capabilities are focused on toy and children’s products industry and comprise disciplines such as materials and processes, rapid manufacturing and prototyping, logistics, environment, pedagogy/product, energy, social technology, innovation, management and toy safety regulations. We are experts in developing experiences with technology. Moreover, for our studies, AIJU has a panel of 5000 collaborating families and also specialists in the world of children&youngs: toy librarians, psychologists, educators, teachers, and also engineers, ICT specialists. AIJU has experience in developing projects involving people with disabilities. AIJU works closely with ONCE (Foundation for Cooperation and the Social Inclusion of the Disabled) and CEAPAT (State Reference Centre for Personal Autonomy and Technical Aid) in different initiatives, for example adapting toys that directly cannot be used by some children with functional diversity, motor, visual or hearing disabilities.
